It’s finally October! Which means its finally, officially, Halloween season, my favorite time of year. It’s the best part of fall, in my opinion. Although most people associate Halloween with getting the bejesus scared out of them by going on those haunted hay rides or houses or going to amusement parks, I dislike things popping out at me. The last time I went to one of those I ended up punching one of the performers. They didn’t like that very much. I’m also super allergic to hay, so at least that excuse works in my favor. I really just love the spirit of halloween and the belief that spirits of unrest wander the night looking for the portal that will bring them peace. I also like real ghost hunting. Tell me of a location that is rumored to be haunted by an old (and hopefully friendly) ghost and I am more than happy to go explore with my camera. I try not to deal with places or things that have been attached to a demonic spirit, although there’s an occult museum not far from me run by the Warrens. The Warrens are best known for handling the case of Annabelle, the creepy doll that was haunted by a demonic spirit and was known to move around an apartment and leave creepy notes around. It allegedly attacked a friend of the owner and left claw marks that burned and all but disappeared two days later. This doll is not to be messed with. Visitors to the museum who have taunted the doll or attempted to touch it and throw it around have been known to get hurt, be in an accident, and die after fooling around with the doll. The Warrens keep it locked up in a case on display with a visible note that says “Do Not Touch”. They’ve also helped in the cases of the Amityville Horror and The Conjuring.
I’ve always wanted to go to this museum. Not only does it have this doll and case files on it, but also relics from around the world that the Warrens have acquired during their paranormal expeditions. It fascinates and intimidates me to be able to go there and see these objects face to face. To see these inanimate objects that have been known to cause destructions and fear among cultures, families, tribes, cities, and whatever else they were able to do. My sister won’t let me go. She believes that if I go, I’ll bring bad energy into the house and one of us will die a catastrophic death or be cursed. This just makes it all the more appealing to go since it’s something that is somewhat forbidden.
Since I more than likely won’t be able to get my kicks by going to the museum any time soon, even though it’s legitimately 20 minutes away from me, my other fave thing to do around this time of year is watch all kinds of halloween movies. I decided to compile a list, 31 to be exact, for everyday of the month of October. It only seems appropriate. They range from family-friendly to hide yo kids, hide yo wife status. They also go in no particular order.
